A New Chapter of DILP begins!

Dear Alumni, Volunteers and Supporters

We know many of you have been eagerly waiting for the Dual Identity Leadership Program’s (DILP) return – whether as past participants wanting to reconnect, alumni hoping to introduce new faces to the program, or simply as supporters wondering what’s been happening. It has been three years since our last cohort, and we want to acknowledge that gap and be transparent about the challenges we’ve faced.

Since its inception in 2013, DILP has been shaped by the dedication and hard work of so many people, including mentors, alumni, volunteers, and community leaders who believed in its mission and helped build it into the program it became. We want to take a moment to sincerely acknowledge everyone who has contributed to DILP over the years and recognise the time, effort, and passion that so many of you invested.

Shifting priorities within the organisations that previously supported DILP led to uncertainty about its continuation and it became clear that a new direction was needed to ensure its long-term success. That’s why we’re excited to announce that DILP is making its return as an independent, incorporated entity!

A new Advisory Board is leading this transition, and we have been actively working to secure sustainable funding and partnerships to support the program’s future. With 2025 marking the 50th anniversary of Vietnamese settlement in Victoria, we see this as a meaningful time to bring DILP back and set the foundation for the next generation of young leaders.

This year, our focus is on strengthening our organisational foundations, building digital infrastructure, and reconnecting with our alumni and broader community. We hope to create opportunities to engage with you all, whether through conversations, collaborations, or gatherings, to ensure that DILP remains a meaningful space for young leaders. We are also exploring potential avenues for expansion, including the possibility of bringing DILP to other states in the future.

Our goal is to relaunch the program in 2026, and we want to ensure it returns stronger than ever. As we take these steps, we welcome any ideas, feedback, or support from our alumni network. DILP has always thrived because of the contributions of passionate individuals, and we want this next phase to be shaped by those who care about its future.

In the coming months, we will be reaching out with more details and opportunities to get involved, and we look forward to having as many of you onboard as possible.

We are incredibly grateful for your patience, support, and belief in what DILP stands for. This new chapter is only possible because of the incredible network of people who have shaped the program over the years. We look forward to sharing more soon.
